Running Out of Space on Your iPhone? Try This Simple Fix

f your iPhone is running low on storage, getting laggy, or just cluttered, you don’t need to delete everything. Apple has a built-in feature that helps you clear space without losing data — it’s called Offload Unused Apps.

📱 What Does “Offload” Mean?

When you offload an app:

  • The app itself is removed to free up space

  • Your data and settings stay on the device

  • If you reinstall the app later, everything comes back exactly how you left it

This is perfect for apps you rarely use but don’t want to completely erase (like airline, conference, or seasonal apps).

🔧 How to Turn It On:

  1. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage

  2. Tap Enable next to Offload Unused Apps

  3. Or offload apps one-by-one by tapping the app name and selecting Offload App

🧹 While You’re There…

  • Check the top of the iPhone Storage screen — it shows what's using the most space

  • Tap into Photos, Messages, or Safari to clear cache or old files

  • Don’t forget to delete old voicemails and downloads, too!

🐾 Let It Breathe

Even newer iPhones can fill up fast with apps, photos, and videos. A quick cleanup once a month can make your phone run faster — and save you from that “Storage Full” notification when you need it most.
