Don’t Let Your Wi-Fi Slow You Down This Holiday

Whether you’re streaming a backyard BBQ playlist, FaceTiming family, or catching a holiday movie—slow Wi-Fi shouldn’t ruin the fun.

Here’s how to keep your connection fast and frustration-free:

1. Give your router a fresh start.

Unplug for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. This clears built-up signal clutter and resets performance.

2. Reposition for better signal.

Wi-Fi routers work best in the center of your space, off the floor, and away from thick walls. Bonus tip: avoid hiding it behind a TV or cabinet.

3. Check for digital “traffic jams.”

Multiple devices streaming or updating at once? Pause background updates and large downloads to free up bandwidth.

4. Upgrade to the 5GHz network.

Most modern routers have two networks—2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 5GHz band is faster and less crowded (perfect for short-range speed).

5. Extend your reach.

Still spotty? A simple Wi-Fi extender can boost signal to garages, patios, or far bedrooms.
